HEART WARMING HEALING HOT TODDY

Hot Toddy

 

A sip of brandy has a warming and soothing effect and is perfect for warming up in winter. This recipe is a perfect excuse to sit down and take a few relaxing minutes to sip this healthful tonic (hee hee).

 

This Hot Toddy has a few other ingredients that make it a great tonic to help deal with colds and flu.

 

Ingredients –

 

1 cup boiling water

1 tablspoon honey (soothes coughs and sore throats)

¼ lemon juiced(boosts immune system)

1 whole clove (cough suppressant)

½ stick cinnamon (breaks up congestion)

1 nip brandy (anti-bacterial, thins mucus)

 

Directions –

 

Place the honey, cinnamon and cloves in a mug and top with boiling water. Allow too steep for 1 minute and then add lemon juice and brandy. Sip slowly.

 

For a non-alcoholic version, leave out the hot water and brandy and use apple juice in its place.
